Once in Hau'oli City, a short cutscene will play where you'll be taught the proper Alolan greeting. Head down the staircase onto the beach to find a Poké Ball in an Item Ball. Head back onto the path and speak to the woman in white on the right side and she'll give you a Potion. Continue forward on the path into the Shopping District.

Hau will stop you and bring you inside a building. Here you'll get the Poké Finder. A man will then show you how to use your new Poké Finder once you are back outside. Snap a photo of Pikachu and exit when you're satisfied. Continue forward for a while longer and you'll run into Lillie once again. She'll give you a Lens Case. You can also speak to the lady in green for a Silk Scarf.

Continue forward on the path, and you'll be stopped by Ilima near the Pokémon Center. He'll introduce Totem Stickers and mention some trouble with a group called Team Skull. Peel the sticker off the wall for your first Totem Sticker. You can backtrack a little and grab a second Totem Sticker next to the lady in green who gave you a Silk Scarf.

Head south and wrap around back right after the Pokémon Center. You'll find a third Totem Sticker on the wall of the first building here. Continue to the right and you'll be stopped by Hau. A couple of Team Skull grunts will soon interrupt you. You'll need to defeat a grunt and his Lv. 9 Zubat in battle.

After you fend off the Team Skull grunts, Ilima will heal your team and then ask if you're ready for his trial. He'll engage you in battle with his Lv. 10 Yungoos and Lv. 11 Smeargle. Be careful, because Smeargle has the ability to heal itself. After you defeat the captain, he suggests that you take on his trial in Verdant Cavern.

Head back towards the Pokémon Center, healing if you wish. North of the Pokémon Center, you'll be stopped by Lillie again, who will give you 3 Revives. You'll need to pet another Tauros, and then you're free to continue north to Route 2.

You can take on the surfer here on the path before heading down if you wish. Approach the lady in the yellow bikini and she'll tell you about Mantine surfing. Go back towards Route 2 and you'll stopped by some grunts. Approach the grunts to take one on in battle; he'll have a Lv. 9 Drowzee. The lady will reward you with a Fresh Water. You can follow the path that the grunts came from to fnd a White Herb. Afterwards, head back towards Route 2.

You can enter the guest room and speak to the man to get 2 Nest Balls. Head north on Route 2 to battle another trainer. You can head right into the Berry Fields and speak to the man to get an Oran Berry. You can pick up a variety of other berries from beneath the tree as well. Speak to the man again for a Sitrus Berry. You can also find a Totem Sticker on the side of his house and a Silver Powder nearby.

Exit the fields and head north to see a cutscene featuring the mysterious figures from earlier. You'll come accross a fork in the road on Route 2. If you take the top route, you'll be able to pick up a Revive and battle a Pokémon Breeder. The bottom route is home to another trainer and a Super Potion.

At the end of the fork, you'll run into Hau. He'll take you inside the Pokémon Center and kindly give you 3 Revives. When promted, interact with your Rotom Dex and the Roto Loto feature for 2 Roto Boosts. Head right for a cutscene with Ilima, and enter Verdant Cavern to begin his trial.

Upon entering Verdant Cavern, Ilima will instruct you to defeat three Pokémon before taking on the Totem Pokémon. Begin by investigating the small den to face a Yungoos (Alolan Rattata in Ultra Moon). Pick up the Super Potion in an Item Ball to the right and then head north towards the large rock. You can investigate this rock for a Revive. Investigate another den here to defeat another Yungoos.

Head left accross the bridge and south to find TM31- Brick Break. Now head north and accross another bridge and crawl through the alcove to the right. Pick up the Super Potion here. Look inside this den to discover the final Pokémon already moved to another. You'll need to chase the final Yungoos around these three dens, picking up an X Defense near the third den. When you cross the bridge back towards the first den, a few Team Skull thugs will show up.

You'll need to once again defeat a grunt and hs Lv. 11 Drowzee. Afterwards, the two grunts will unknowingly help you by covering two of three dens. Make your way to the uncovered den to battle the final Pokémon, a Gumshoos. Now, go ahead and exit the cave to the north to face the Totem Pokémon.
