Pokemon Legends Z-A Get a New Trailer for Pokemon Day
During today's Pokémon Presents showcase, on the one year annivesary of its announcement, we got a new trailer and details for the upcoming Pokémon Legends Z-A. It's a follow up to Pokémon Legends Arceus, but takes place in a completely different setting and era. The entire game takes place in Lumiose City in the Kalos region.
Like Legends: Arceus, Legends: Z-A features a different style of battle that takes place in the overworld and features a less rigid turn based system. Newly shown off in this trailer is a spacing mechanic in the battles. Different moves will now have different ranges and areas of affect that you and your Pokémon will need to adjust to.
The starters for Legends: Z-A were also revealed. They will be Chikorita, Tepig, and Totodile. Interestingly two of the three starters are from the Johto region and none of the three are from the Kalos region. Mega Evolution will also be making it's return. It's presumed that there will be new mega evolutions for Pokémon (including the starters), but none have been revealed so far.
No specific release date was given, but the game will be releasing in late 2025. It will be released for Nintendo Switch, but it's not clear if there will also be a version released for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. Either way, it will be playable on Nintendo Switch 2 via backwards compatibility.
Stay tuned for further information as we get closer to release and check out the full trailer below. Happy Pokémon Day!
