Chapter 6: Mistralton Gym
Route 6
With Driftveil Gym complete it's now time to continue on to Route 6. Make sure to heal up if you need to and then leave town to the west to get to the route. As you leave, you'll be stopped by Bianca who wants another battle. She now has a Lv. 26 Herdier, a Lv. 26 Pansage/Pansear/Panpour, a Lv. 26 Musharna, and a Lv. 28 Dewott/Servine/Pignite. She also has a couple Hyper Potions at her disposal. If you win she'll reward you with the very useful HM02 - Fly. Once you teach this to a Pokémon you'll be able to fly to the Pokémon Center of any town you've already been to.
Route 6 winds back and forth across the river here, and there are several trainers you can face along it if you'd like. You'll eventually reach the Season Research Lab building where you can pick up the nearby Hyper Potion and Elixir. If you enter the building and show one of the researcher's a Deerling, you can also kick off another quest where you show him the various seasonal forms.
Continue to the west into the tall grass and there will be a few more trainers you can battle. Some of the Item Balls in the tall grass here are actually decoys, they are just Foongus that will jump out to battle you if you approach them. There is a Leaf Stone in the center though. Continue north over the bridge and you'll find a house off to the right. Speak to the little girl here to get a Shiny Stone. You can also speak to her mother to get healed up.
Chargestone Cave
Keep going north up the stairs and you'll find the entrance to Chargestone Cave. Clay will meet you here. He'll clear the cave entrance for you and give you TM78 - Bulldoze. You can then enter the cave, but you'll quickly be stopped by the Shadow Triad and taken to N. He tells you that you are the chosen one and that Team Plasma will be waiting for you up ahead.
Keep going just a little further and Bianca will show up with Professor Juniper to show you how to move the floating stones in here. The Professor will give you a Lucky Egg. Because the stones are pulled by electric charge, you can push the smaller floating stones towards the larger ones. Do this to clear the path ahead and you'll find a path leading to a Parlyz Heal. Further ahead there are a few trainers you can battle and a Heal Ball and Revive you can find by pushing some stones.
To clear the path ahead, you'll need to get behind the blue haired trainer and push the first stone to the left so that you can push the stone below it to the south. When you head down the stairs Bianca and the Professor will catch up again and tell some lore about Klink. You won't be able to do anything to the north besides face a Hiker, so continue on the path to the south towards the bridge. The Shadow Triad will escort you over it and tell you that Team Plasma is waiting for you ahead near the stairs. You can also pick up a Hyper Potion here.
There's another trainer to battle near the stairs and if you go south of that you'll find two floating stones. You'll need to only push the bottom one to clear a path to the Item Ball containing an Iron. Head down the stairs and you can speak to the brothers here to get 2 Nuggets. Continue north and then take the right path where you'll find a Doctor. Once you defeat him in battle he'll heal your team whenever you ask.
Head north and there will be a narrow path lined with Team Plasma grunts. The first has a Lv. 26 Sandile, a Lv. 26 Scraggy, and a Lv. 26 Watchog. The second has a Lv. 28 Scraggy. The third has a Lv. 27 Trubbish and a Lv. 27 Liepard. The fourth has three Lv. 26 Trubbish. The fifth has a Lv. 27 Watchog and a Lv. 27 Sandile. The sixth has a Lv. 28 Liepard. The seventh has a Lv. 27 Sandile and a Lv. 27 Watchog. Remember that you can go back and heal up with the Doctor at any time. There is also a Thunderstone you can pick up by pushing a floating stone to the left at the end of this little area.
Once you've beaten all seven Plasma Grunts you can take the stairs up to a higher floor to progress or venture down the stairs to the left to battle a couple trainers and pick up some goodies. There are a couple of Ace Trainers down here, but you can pick up a Hyper Potion, Rare Candy, and BrightPowder for your efforts. Once you've cleared this bottom floor head up two floors via the staircases to the right.
If you head left on this floor you can push a floating stone to make a shortcut back to the beginning of the cavern. Heading south you can defeat an Ace Trainer and find a Magnet. If you head to the right you'll find N, who will challenge you to a battle. N now has a Lv. 28 Boldore, a Lv. 28 Joltik, a Lv. 28 Ferroseed, and a Lv. 28 Klink. After you defeat him N will whine for a bit and then get into some beef with the Professor about the Pokédex. You can then continue to the right to exit the cave.
Mistralton City
After leaving the cave you'll find yourself right in Mistralton City. Heal up at the Pokémon Center straight ahead if you need to. If you want to change the moveset of one of your Pokémon, you can find the Move Deleter and Move Reminder in the house to the right. Otherwise head north into town and you'll be stopped by Cedric Juniper, Professor Juniper's father! He will upgrade your Pokédex to be easily searchable and contain form data. He'll also introduce you to Skyla, the gym leader of this city. She mentions that you won't be able to challenge her yet since she has business to take care of on Route 7.
The main attraction in town is the airport with the large runway to the left. If you enter the airport building you can speak to the lady with brown hair to get a Sharp Beak. On the runway itself, you can find TM58 - Sky Drop next to a plane. The only other thing of note on the runway is the gym to the north, which you won't be able to challenge yet. Instead make your way north of town to Route 7.
Route 7
There is extra tall grass on this route where trainers like to hide and pop out at you. There are also some Electric and Ice type wild Pokémon you can find here, which are great options for the upcoming Flying-type gym. There are a few trainers to battle in this first section as well as an Ultra Ball to pick up. If you head up the stairs to the left you can speak to the first lady to get TM57 - Charge Beam. You can also skip this section by using the raised walkway. The trick with it is that you can't stop moving or you'll fall off.
Continue right and to the north along this route. If you take the walkway you'll be forced into a rotation battle with an Ace Trainer. There are then a few more optional trainers ahead and you can also pick up a PP Up and Max Ether. If you want to quickly heal your team you can head right using the walkway and you'll find a house where you can heal your team by speaking with the woman in front of the TV. Otherwise just continue along the north path and you'll find the tower we're looking for.
Celestial Tower
Celestial Tower is a tall building full of grave stones and trainers with Psychic, Dark, and Ghost type Pokémon. You can also encounter wild Ghost-type Pokémon here. Head up the staircase and you'll find the first floor with some trainers to battle and items to pick up. You can find a Hyper Potion and TM61 Will-O-Wisp. Take the staircase up to the next floor.
The next floor is full of trainers, some of them can be dodged if you'd rather not fight them all. You can also find a Spell Tag on this floor. The final trainer you'll need to battle is a nurse, so once you defeat her she will heal your team whenever you ask. Take the stairs up to the next floor.
The third floor has a few stronger Ace Trainers to take out. You can also find a Revive and TM65 - Shadow Claw on this floor. The next staircase will take you to the top of the tower, where you'll find Skyla waiting. Agree to ring the bell up here and then Skyla will tell you that you're ready to take on her gym. You can fly back to Mistralton City from the top of the tower.
Mistralton Gym
Mistralton Gym can be found at the north end of the runway at the airport. Speak to the guide once inside to get a Fresh Water. Hopefully you brought some Pokémon with Electric, Ice, or Rock type moves to deal with this Flying-type gym. You navigate this gym through a series of cannons that can be entered in various directions and will launch you in the opposite direction you entered in.
Start by entering this first cannon, then taking the cannon to the left. You can then enter this same cannon from the left side and it will launch you to a platform with Worker Cliff, who has two Lv. 32 Tranquill. You could also fight Worker Brady and his Lv. 32 Ducklett and Lv. 32 Woobat.
Enter the cannon up here to and it will launch you to another platform where you can face Pilot Ted and his Lv. 32 Ducklett and Lv. 32 Sigilyph. Enter this next cannon from the bottom and then the next cannon from the left. You'll then need to battle Pilot Chase who has a Lv. 33 Unfezant. Enter this next canon from the right and take the stairs up where you'll need to battle Worker Arnold and his Lv. 33 Swoobat.
Gym Leader Skyla
You'll then enter the next four cannons from the only direction you can and end up in front of Gym Leader Skyla. You can bail out to heal up first with the cannon behind her if you need to. Otherwise it's time to challenge her and her Flying-type team. She uses a Lv. 33 Swoobat, a Lv. 33 Unfezant, and a Lv. 35 Swanna. Her Swanna could be tricky, but because of it's dual Water and Flying typing, you can probably OHKO with a solid Electric-type move. She also has two Hyper Potions that she'll use when she can.
Once you defeat Skyla you will be awarded the Jet Badge which means Pokémon up to Lv. 70 will now obey you. She'll also give you a copy of her favorite TM, TM62 - Acrobatics.
