Chapter 26: The Indigo Disk
Blueberry Academy
Now that we've completed the Teal Mask DLC, it's time to move on to the Indigo Disk. You can get it started by flying back to the Academy. When you enter you'll be greeted by a new character, Director Cyrano. It turns out Carmine recommended us to become a transfer student at the Blueberry Academy. After the cutscene, speak with Cyrano again and he'll take you to the new Academy.
Once you arrive, you'll meet a new student named Lacey who will serve as your tour guide. After a little bit of the tour, Cyrano will insist that you two battle. It will be a double battle, the norm here at Blueberry Academy, and Lacey will have a Lv. 70 Minun, a Lv. 70 Plusle, and a Lv. 72 Excadrill. Even though you are likely overleveled compared to her, you might find this battle is quite a bit more difficult than those you are used to in the other regions. That will be common in this part of the DLC, the emphasis is on battling and opposing trainers will have well designed teams that work symbiotically and are more difficult to counter.
After the battle, you'll get a Blueberry Academy Uniform and an Indigo Style Card. Afterward, head to the desk and choose to go to the Terarium. This area is a large underground ecosystem with four unique biomes. There is also an orb of fluid that allows Pokémon to Terastallize while here. You'll get the Terarium Map added to your phone, as well as the Blueberry Pokédex. You'll then be invited to attend a battle class in the Coastal Biome, but you'll need to make your way over there yourself.
First Class
The first thing to do is mark the Coastal Biome class on your map so that we can begin making our way toward it. Straight ahead you'll spot a familiar face, Perrin the photographer. She's been hired to take photos of students and battles here and has a hot tip to share with you once you register 200 Pokémon in the Blueberry Pokédex. In the little block plaza area straight ahead you'll find a self-serve heal station and vending machines.
What you want to do next is quite open-ended, you are certainly free to roam around the different biomes working on your Pokédex and battling trainers. For the purpose of this walkthrough we'll be heading straight to the next objective, assuming you'll catch the new Pokémon along the way if you'd like. Keep heading east through the Savannah Biome and you'll reach a blocky staircase that separates the two biomes. Cross over it to enter the Coastal Biome.
In the Coastal Biome you'll want to head northeast up the grassy hill. Your destination is near another self heal station, so go ahead and take advantage of that. Once you do, head to the nearby class and meet up with Lacey. Your first assignment in class is to find and catch an Alolan Form Pokémon. There are a few different options, if you head north just a bit you'll find a grassy area where both Alolan Exeggutor and Alolan Grimer/Muk spawn. Once you catch one, head back to the class.
BBQs
Once you show the professor you're Alolan form class will be dismissed and Lacey will tell you about Blueberry Quests (BBQs) and Blueberry Points. Afterward you'll get a call from Carmine who wants to meet you in the Central Plaza of the Terarium. From this point forward you should keep an eye on your Blueberry Quests (access with right d-pad) and complete them to earn BP. We won't include specific ones in this guide, because they are different for every playthrough and are continually replaced as you complete them. But you'll want to be earning BP for later in the DLC.
We'll now want to make our way to the Central Plaza, catching new Pokémon and completing BBQs along the way. A good way to do that while exposing yourself to some new Pokémon is to go up and over the mountain here. When you arrive at the Central Plaza, heal up and speak to Carmine near the battle court. She will of course challenge you to a double battle. She has a Lv. 74 Toucannon, a Lv. 74 Mightyena, a Lv. 74 Scrafty, and a Lv. 75 Sinistcha who she will Terastallize. Her Sinistcha has an annoying habbit of using Stun Spore to paralyze your Pokémon, so watch out for that.
BB League
After winning, you and Carmine will catch a glimpse of Kieran who has a new look and a new attitude. After watching him chew out another student, a kid named Drayton will approach you two, and Carmine clearly has beef with him. He'll then offer to show you the clubroom. He'll introduce the League Club, which is a battle club with a ranking system and its own Elite Four.
Drayton invites you to use the club and also gives you 200 BP. Use it to contribute to Mitch from the Baseball Club to get some new Pokéball throwing styles. You can use this PC to trade BP for things from other students. Drayton will also give you the Catching Charm and the League Club Uniform. Carmine apparently gets a little jealous after all of this and suggest we check out your room together. Here she warns you about Drayton and informs you that Kieran has climbed the ranks and is now the BB League President and Champion.
Now it's apparently time for your date with Drayton. Head to the Cafeteria and speak with him at the table. Kieran and the rest of the BB League Elite Four will show up and take a vote on whether you can join the BB League. Now head to the Entrance reception area to officially sign up for the BB League. With Kieran's blessing, you'll get signed up and even get to skip ahead in the ranks so that you can begin challenging the elite four right away.
From here you are free to challenge the elite four and complete their trials in any order. There is one member in each biome, so you'll be able to explore the biomes, battle other trainers, and catch all the new Pokémon along the way. In this guide we'll start with Crispin in the Savannah biome, but feel free to skip around if you'd prefer a different order.
Elite Four Crispin - Savannah Biome
Mark Crispin on your map in the Savannah Biome so that you can begin making your way there. Fly on over to the Savannah rest area to get started. Feel free to take your time heading over there if you'd like to catch new Pokémon and train using the many trainers scattered around this biome. When you arrive at the Savannah Plaza, and you can speak to the kid behind the desk to begin the Elite Trial for 50 BP.
Crispin's Elite Trial is putting togther a super-spicy sandwich. The catch here is you can't use your own ingredients, you must get them from nearby League Club members. To get ingredients from the trainers you'll either need to pay them, trade them, or battle them. After each battle you will be fully healed. There are multiple possible recipes but here's one of them:
- Battle the girl near Crispin to get some Potato Salad.
- Battle (or buy for 50 BP) the kid behind the rock to get a Jalapeño.
- Battle the kid with black hair to get some Mayonnaise.
- Trade the blonde boy your Potato Salad for Onion, Cucumber, and Prosciutto.
- Answer the trivia question to the brown-haired boy (A: "Mayonnaise") to get Egg, Olive Oil, and Vinegar.
- Trade the girl next to him your cucumber for some Chili Sauce.
- Trade the kid with the bowl cut an egg for some Chorizo.
- Trade the brown haired girl your vinegar for some Mustard.
- Trade the black haired guy your prosciutto and olive oil for another Jalapeño.
Return to Crispin to begin making the sandwhich. Use your Jalapeños, Chorizo, Mayo, Mustard, and Chili Sauce.
After you pass the Elite Trial, it will be time for your battle with Crispin. He gives you one last chance to switch out your team first if you'd like. Remember Water, Ground, and Rock types are your best bet against his Fire-type team. Crispin has a Lv. 77 Talonflame, a Lv. 77 Rotom, a Lv. 78 Camerupt, a Lv. 78 Exeggutor, a Lv. 78 Magmortar, and a Lv. 79 Blaziken.
His Talonflame and Rotom have the ability Levitate, so Ground type moves won't work on them. He has Pokémon that will heal themselves and continually give you burns. Exeggutor is thrown in the mix as a counter to your Water, Ground, and Rock types. He will Terastallize his Blaziken which will become a pure Fire-type. After defeating Crispin, he'll award you with TM207 - Temper Flare. Drayton will also pay you a little visit afterward to congratulate you and wish you luck on the remaining Elite Four members.
Elite Four Amarys - Canyon Biome
Our next destination isn't too far away, it's Elite Four member Amarys in the Canyon Biome. Mark it on your map and begin heading that way. This is likely a new biome for you, so there will be plenty of new Pokémon to catch along the way and trainers to battle. Amarys specializes in Steel-type Pokémon, so it may not be a bad idea to start training up your Fire, Fighting, and Ground types if needed.
Once you arrive in the Canyon Biome, you'll need to climb to the top of a nearby mountain. There are block steps and bridges to make this path a little clearer, but you could also just climb straight up it with Koraidon/Miraidon. You'll find the Canyon Plaza on a little island between many different streams of water. You can speak to the receptionist here to kick off your next Elite Trial. It will cost you 50 BP.
You will be greeted by Amarys and taken to the place of the trial. Her challenge is a Flying Time Trial. You'll be on the back of Koraidon/Miraidon in a classic fly around and go through the rings game. The course is very short and easy and the only real challenge is if you forget to switch the flying controls to inverted. Once you complete this trial, you'll be given a chance to prepare your team before your battle with Amarys.
Amarys specializes in Steel-type Pokémon, so Fire, Fighting, and Ground types are her weakness. She uses a Lv. 78 Skarmory, a Lv. 78 Alolan Dugtrio, a Lv. 79 Reuniclus, a Lv. 79 Empoleon, a Lv. 79 Scizor, and a Lv. 80 Metagross. The dual types of her Pokémon are specifically designed to cover her weaknesses and she will use that to her advantage. For example, Dugtrio will likely outspeed you and use Earthquake right away, which will likely OHKO any Fire-type Pokémon.
This is a very difficult battle, possibly the most difficult in the game. You must plan your team around her specific Pokémon and moves. Even if you are overleveled with the type advantage she has moves that will likely OHKO you. One helpful tip is to catch and train a Flygon from the Savannah Biome. It's a Ground/Dragon type with Levitate which keeps you safe from Earthquake. It can also learn strong Fire-type moves.
After winning the battle you'll take a photo together and Amarys will give you TM225 - Hard Press. You'll also have Drayton and Kieran pay you a visit to congratulate and intimidate you.
Elite Four Lacey - Coastal Biome
Next we'll be heading over to the Coastal Biome to take on Elite Four Lacey. You should already have at least one fly spot here. There are many new Pokémon to catch here and trainers to take on, so do that at your leisure. Lacey uses Fairy types, so put an emphasis on building a team of Poison and Steel types.
The Coastal Plaza is located on an island connected to the mainland by a bridge. Mark it on your map and make your way to it. Speak to the lady behind the desk here to begin your Elite Trial, which will cost you 50 BP. Lacey's trial is a Pokémon quiz. You must answer 5 questions correctly to pass. Most of the answers are pretty obvious, but if you get them wrong you can try again anyway. Once you answer all five correctly, the trial will be clear.
You'll then head back to the plaza for your battle with Elite Four Lacey. She of course specializes in Fairy types, though her Pokémon have a variety of dual types and different moves. She uses a Lv. 78 Granbull, a Lv. 78 Whimsicott, a Lv. 79 Primarina, a Lv. 79 Alcremie, a Lv. 79 Galarian Slowbro, and a Lv. 80 Excadrill. She will Terastallize her Excadrill to become a pure Fairy type.
Watch out for her Galarian Slowbro, as it has very strong Psychic type moves to target Poison types. If you have a Skeledirge, it could be a good choice against it, but watch out for the Excadrill. Alcremie can boost her other Pokémon and continually heal itself, so take it out quickly if you can. Overall this battle isn't as challening as Amarys, but she's certainly no pushover.
After winning you'll snap a photo with Lacey and she will also award you with TM227 - Alluring Voice. Afterward Drayton will pay you another visit and leak some more drama happening between the Elite Four members.
Elite Four Drayton - Polar Biome
The final Elite Four member, Drayton, can be found in the Polar Biome. There are once again many new Pokémon and trainers to catch and fight along the way. Drayton uses Dragon-type Pokémon, so Fairy, Ice, and Steel types (of which there are plenty around) are your best bet.
The Polar Plaza where you must face him can be found in the far north-west corner of the Terarium. Speak to the receptionist to start the trial, which costs 50 BP, but Drayton will actually pay it for you. However, his Elite Trial is a little move involved. You'll find that you need to defeat a series of 3 trainers using only Pokémon that you caught in the Terarium. You can't transfer or trade them either, you must have actually caught them here. You can also catch and train Pokémon once the trial starts, so no need to hold off.
Luckily these trainer's Pokémon are around the level they can be found in the wild and each one only has two. From left to right the three trainers you need to defeat are: Craig the Student, Winter the Student, and Ray the Student. Note that your Pokémon aren't healed between battles, so make sure to do that yourself if you need. Craig uses a Lv. 68 Bastiodon and a Lv. 68 Rampardos. Winter uses a Lv. 68 Alolan Sandslash and a Lv. 68 Dewgong. Ray uses a Lv. 68 Magnezone and a Lv. 68 Zebstrika. Once they are all defeated, the Elite Trial will be complete.
Luckily the Terarium-only restriction is lifted for your battle with Elite Four Drayton. Go ahead and switch up your team for this battle, remembering that he is a Dragon-type specialist. Drayton uses a Lv. 78 Flygon, a Lv. 78 Dragonite, a Lv. 79 Haxorus, a Lv. 79 Sceptile, a Lv. 79 Kingdra, and a Lv. 80 Archaludon. He will Terastallize his Archaludon to be Dragon-type.
This is a difficult but manageable battle, still easier than Amarys. Stay away from bringing in pure Dragon-types yourself, as most of his Pokémon know Dragon moves. He doesn't have too many counters for the super effective types against him, but Haxorus and Archaludon both know Steel-type moves that you should watch out for.
After winning the battle you'll get your compulsory selfie together. He'll also give you a copy of TM226 - Dragon Cheer. This is a particularly important TM because it is needed to evolve Dipplin into Hydrapple, so use it carefully if you plan on completing the Pokédex. Kieran will also pay you a visit now that you are worthy of challenging him.
BB League Champion Kieran
With the Elite Four under our belt it's now time to take on the Champion Kieran. Get your best team prepared and then fly on over to the Entrance. Speak to the receptionist and you'll be signed up for your final battle against Champion Kieran. Unlike the other Elite Four Members, Kieran doesn't use a single type. There's nothing in particular to prepare for, you'll just have to use the best team you've got.
Kieran uses a Lv. 80 Dragonite, a Lv. 80 Politoed, a Lv. 81 Porygon-Z, a Lv. 81 Grimmsnarl, a Lv. 81 Inceneroar, and a Lv. 82 Hydrapple. He will Terstallize the Hydrapple to be a pure Fighting-type.
The one nice thing about this battle is that his Pokémon are less likely to outspeed you like most of the other Elite Four members. So you can usually at least get a hit in before getting OKHO'd. Since he has such a wide variety of types and moves, it's hard to pinpoint a particular thing to look out for. He will likely start with his Dragonite, which is super strong and should be taken out as soon as you can. Besides that you have a straightforward but challenging battle on your hands. If you made it through Amarys, you should be able to take on Kieran.
As you might expect by this point, Kieran, doesn't take the loss very well. Drayton rubbing it in certainly doesn't help, but he does help you by giving you another Master Ball! You'll then get called to meet with Ms. Briar in Clasroom 1-4, so head over there.
Hidden Treasure of Area Zero
Ms. Briar wants to send you on an expedition to Area Zero once again, this time to look for the legendary Pokémon Terapagos. Geeta and Rika will then show up to explain further. Geeta will also give you the Indigo Disk after you speak to her. After Geeta is finished with her spiel, head back to the Entrance and meet up with the others. Make sure your party is fully healed, then speak to Ms. Briar to set off on this adventure.
Once you arrive Ms. Briar tells you that there is apparently a hidden area below the depths of Area Zero. Either way, you'll first want to make your way down to the Zero Lab. You can just use Koraidon/Miraidon to glide down there, no need to take the long way. After arriving, you'll find that your access to the gate has been revoked. However your newfound Indigo Disk will save the day and grant you even further access privileges.
Make your way inside the Zero Lab and over to the elevator. It will take you much further down below Area Zero to a crystal cavern. Here Ms. Briar will find a book detailing the Stellar Tera Phenomenon, which gives a Pokémon the power of every single type. Continue across the bridge ahead and you'll need to fight a Stellar Tera Glimmora. You won't be able to catch it, so you must defeat it. Once you do, a the crystal blocking your path ahead will be removed.
Continue through the cavern until you reach the next crystal blocking your path. Up on a nearby cliff you'll see another glowing Pokémon. Hop across the platforms to reach it and battle a Stellar Tera Noivern. Once defeated, the next crystal will be removed and you can continue on. You'll shortly come across the next crystal blocking your path, and the Stellar Tera Sandy Shocks you need to defeat is in the cavern to the left.
Continue down the path that the crystal was blocking and you'll find a room with a winding downward path and a lot of good items to pick up. Swim through the water down here to find another cavern where you'll need to defeat a Stellar Tera Garganacl. A little cutscene will play when you get back where everyone's Tera Orbs begin to glow and then you can continue forward into the next cavern.
Terapagos
Inside the next room you'll find a crystal that is evidently the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero. Kieran will jealously yank it you of it's pedestal and it will transform into a Terapagos. Before you can do anything, Kieran will throw a Master Ball at it! He of course will want to try it out in battle against you, so heal up and get ready for it.
This time around it's a single battle against a Titan-like form of Terapagos. This is known as its Terestal form. It is technically normal type, but when hit with a move at full HP it will always be not very effective. Beyond that it's a fairly normal battle though. Once defeated, Kieran will realize he actually has to Terastallize Terapagos to harness its true power.
Now, Terapagos will transform into its Stellar form and release an immense level of energy. It will no longer obey Kieran and breaks the Master Ball it was once contained in. You will now need to defeat this Terapagos with the help of Carmine, who only has a Sinistcha left. Luckily, she will use Rage Powder to bait Terapagos into attacking her instead. Terapagos will put up a shield that can only be broken by using moves from a Terastallized Pokémon. However, you'll need to use a few attacks before your Tera Orb regains it's charge.
This battle can be a real problem if Terapagos is able to OHKO the Pokémon you Terastallize. As such, it may not be a bad idea to use an X Sp. Def or two to prevent that. Once you break the first tera shield, Terapagos will break your Terastallization (you'll need to hit two attacks to restore it) and put up another shield of their own.
If you make it through two cycles of this, Kieran will finally step in to help you. You'll need to break a third and final barrier and it won't be able to put up any more. Once it's defeated completely, you'll have an opportunity to catch it. It's a guaranteed catch, so use whichever ball you see fit. Afterward, Kieran will make up with you and you'll return to Blueberry Academy to live happily ever after. This is the end of the Indigo Disk DLC story, so sit back and let the credits roll.
Fly Ability
However, there's still more to do here at Blueberry Academy! After the credits, Ms. Briar will call you to Clasroom 1-4 once again. She'll give you a copy of Briar's Book that details what you experienced in the Area Zero Underdepths. You'll also find that you'll now be able to Terastallize your Pokémon without charging your Tera Orb. There will now also be Stellar Tera Type Pokémon roaming around the Terarium.
Head to Classroom 3-2 in the academy where you will find Amarys. She will enable a very useful ability for your Koraidon/Miraidon: it can now fly instead of gliding. This is just like the flying mechanic from her trial. Instead of gliding for a short distance and then falling, you will now be able to fly (gain height) indefinitely.
Snacksworth Legendaries
Ms. Briar also mentioned a man in a suit near the entrance of the Academy. This man is named Snacksworth and he will reward you with treats for completing Blueberry Quests. For every 10 solo quests or 1 group quest you complete, you'll get a treat that corresponds to a legendary Pokémon from past games. Different legendaries are exclusive to solo quests or group quests in each version of the game, but you can get them all in both games if you complete both solo and group BBQs. You can check out our Legendary Pokémon page for full details, but here is a list of Legendaries for each version:

Note these legendaries are found around Paldea, so they are not required for completing the Blueberry Pokédex. However, in addition to giving you many legendary Pokémon, completing quests to unlock these legendaries will reward you with a lot of BP, which we will need to complete the Blueberry Pokédex. 12,000 BP to be exact.
Past Starter Pokémon
If you return to the League Club room you'll be greeted by Cyrano once again. He wants you to recruit other folks from Paldea to come visit the Blueberry Academy. These "Special Coaches" can be invited for 200 BP each and when they arrive you can have a special battle with each of them.
What we're really interested in here is the ability to increase the biodiversity of each of the Terariums four biomes. This is available for 3,000 BP per biome. What this does is allow you to catch every starter Pokémon from generations 1-8 in the Terarium. They are fairly rare spawns, but you can catach as many as you'd like and you'll need to catch and evolve all of them to complete the Blueberry Pokédex. Their spawn locations once unlocked are as follows:
Savannah Biome
- Charmander
- Totodile
- Snivy
- Fennekin
- Rowlet
- Sobble
Canyon Biome
- Squirtle
- Treecko
- Turtwig
- Tepig
- Chespin
- Litten
Coastal Biome
- Bulbasaur
- Chikorita
- Mudkip
- Froakie
- Popplio
- Grookey
Polar Biome
- Cyndaquil
- Torchic
- Chimchar
- Piplup
- Oshawatt
- Scorbunny
Perrin
After you register 200 Pokémon in your Blueberry Pokédex, you can pay a visit to our old friend Perrin at the Savvanah Rest Area 1. She will show you to photo of new Pokémon that differ depending on your version of the game. They will be Gouging Fire and Raging Bolt in Scarlet and Iron Crown and Iron Boulder in Violet. The photos will be of these Paradox Pokémon in Area Zero back in Paldea. If you want to catch them, we'd better head to Area Zero.
Each of the Paradox Pokémon Perrin showed you is a static enouncter at a particular location. They work similar to most legendary Pokémon in the game: you can battle and catch it and if you accidentally knock it out it will respawn in the same location after a few in-game days. It should also be noted that you don't need to obtain the version exclusives from the other version of the game to complete your Blueberry Pokédex.
Gouging Fire
In Scarlet version, Gouging Fire can be found next to the longest waterfall in Area Zero. From the top of the area, look for the long waterfall with a blue satellite near the top to the right. Use Koraidon/Miraidon's fly ability to reach that grassy ledge (or you can climb up if you for some reason don't have it, see above to get it). Here you will find the Paradox Pokémon Gouging Fire, an ancient form of Entei. It's Lv. 75 and a Fire/Dragon type.
Raging Bolt
In Scarlet version, Raging Bolt can be found at the bottom of the waterfall closest to you from the Area Zero entrance. It's just to your left and falls through a large hole in a rock. Glide down to the base of it and you'll find the Paradox Pokémon Raging Bolt, an ancient form of Raikou. It's Lv. 75 and an Electric/Dragon type.
Iron Boulder
In Violet Version version, Iron Boulder can be found just below Research Station No. 2 in Area Zero at the base of a large slanted rock. There you'll find the Paradox Pokémon Iron Boulder, an ancient form of Terrakion. It's Lv. 75 and a Rock/Psychic type.
Iron Crown
In Violet Version version, Iron Crown can be found near the top of Area Zero. From the entrance, head to the left and hop over the first little fence you see. At the base of this rock on the grassy ledge you'll find the Paradox Pokémon Iron Crown, an ancient form of Cobalion. It's Lv. 75 and a Steel/Psychic type.
After catching the two Paradox Pokémon exclusive to your game, return to Perrin to show them to her. She'll snap a couple pictures and award you with a Sport Ball.
Completing the Pokédex
If you have caught and evolved all of the starter Pokémon, done Perrin's Paradox Pokémon quest, and caught and evolved all other Pokémon found in the Terarium (and traded for the couple version exclusives), you should have the 240 entries required to complete the Blueberry Pokédex. If you check out the Pokédex the final reward will be another Master Ball.
If you also head to the Entrance of the academy and find Director Cyrano near the stands. He will give you the Mark Charm as an award. This makes it more likely you'll encounter a Pokémon with a mark. Clavell will also show up and give you the Blueberry Diploma to certify your achievement.
Battle Rematches
If you head to the League Club Room you will find a few of the Blueberry Academy Elite Four members, which ones are available will randomly cycle each day. If you speak to them a couple times you can challenge them to double battle rematches against even tougher teams. If you beat them they will each give you minor cosmetic rewards like emotes and phone cases. There is also a special trade each will offer after you've beaten them.
Special Coaches
As mentioned above, we can now use the League Club Room's computer to invite special coaches to the Blueberry Academy. These include gym leaders, teachers, and other characters from Paldea. You'll need to take certain classes and finish the following epilogue to unlock all of them. It costs 200 BP to invite each one and they only stay for a couple days. You can battle each one (single battles) for a small reward, usually a cosmetic item or some useful consumables.
That's all there is to do here at Blueberry Academy, but there is one last smaller part of the DLC that was released later that allows you to catch a new mythical Pokémon. Check out the next chapter for the final epilogue of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
